Built in 1922 to ease the steep slope, Lombard has become a symbol of the city's charm. I wanted to capture its essence, but the challenge ahead was daunting. The first obstacle: lighting. Sunset could bathe the city in gold, but I had to time it perfectly. The light had to reflect off the street's red bricks just right, with no shadows to kill the scene. Then came altitude. My drone hovered in the air, battling the evening wind, as I carefully adjusted its height. Too low, and the perspective would fall flat; too high, and I'd lose the street's signature curves. But above all, I had to contend with cars - Lombard is constantly busy, a parade of honking tourists and locals. My determination to succeed despite the odds was the only thing that kept me going. The seconds ticked down as I waited for the cars to clear, my heart racing. It felt like the whole city was holding its breath. Finally, a brief window opened: the light was perfect, the cars had cleared, and my drone was in the ideal position. I had captured a moment of history - Lombard Street, as it had never been seen before, frozen in time.
